You are buying a license to use Putback, paid once, with no subscription. The license covers a number of Macs by tier, and includes updates.
The Setapp version of Putback is sold by Setapp (MacPaw), not by us. Setapp handles what you pay, the trial, renewals, cancellations, refunds and how many Macs your purchase covers, under Setapp's own terms. So the license, trial, refund and fair use sections don't apply to that copy. The rest does: the software is provided as is, and here is how to reach us. For billing, contact Setapp support. For anything about Putback itself, open a support ticket.
You can try Putback free for 7 days, fully featured, with no card required. When the trial ends, restoring pauses until you buy a license. Your learned layouts are kept, so nothing you set up is lost while you decide. The trial is counted on our side against an identifier derived from your Mac's hardware, so reinstalling does not start it again. The privacy policy says exactly what that identifier is.
If Putback is not right for you, either open a support ticket or email Peter directly at hi@petersindex.com. Ask within 14 days of buying and we will refund you, no reason needed. After that, ask anyway: we handle refund requests reasonably and promptly, and since you get 7 fully featured days before you pay a cent, we would rather sort it out than keep money you are unhappy about. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory consumer rights you already have where you live.
Please do not share, resell, or work around license keys. When you want to move your license to a different Mac, deactivate a Mac inside the app to free up a spot, then activate the new one.
Putback is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is capped at the price you paid for the license. This does not take away rights the law gives you that cannot be waived.

August 25, 2026. Refunds now name a period, 14 days, rather than leaving it to judgement, and the trial section says that the trial is counted against your Mac's hardware so a reinstall does not restart it.
